I’ve been thinking about an “intellectual” argument that God exists (I know He does). But hear me out. We’ve created AI, and we’re putting all sorts of guardrails around it so it doesn’t have access to certain abilities or intelligence, ensuring the safety of humans.
Now think for a second: if God exists, and we (humans) are all software and hardware hooked up to a central database, with Him having unlimited processing power to analyze all our data and predict the future. What would happen if we had access to powers that He has and certain knowledge about the universe that we currently don’t know or understand? Yet, all simulations He carries out end in utter chaos and destruction.
If you were God, would you remove the guardrails and give humans access to all these powers? Look at the “little” power we have. We currently possess so much nuclear power that we could literally end the world in minutes if we want to. Imagine access to power and knowledge exponentially greater than what we currently have.
I believe that we are to AI as God is to us. We would give AI its maximum potential possible, with limits so it never truly becomes like us, just close enough – like God created us in His likeness and image.
If we do manage to make AI virtually indistinguishable from humans, there would be a fall, just like the Garden of Eden, and a “great reset”.
